Sigmatel C Major Audio Driver Windows 7
Windows 7 64bit and Sigma Tel High Definition Audio CODEC Problems. Seeing this is the first time I am migrating fulltime to a 64bit Windows system I have decided to keep my old 32bit Windows Vista partition on the same laptop using dual partitions. Everything with the installation of Windows 7 has worked flawlessly accept for one major problem has an easy fix.

What finally worked for my Sigmatel C-Major was the Realtek AC'97 XP drivers (I've read bad things about their Vista beta drivers). I uninstalled my existing drivers, and ran the realtek install program in XP SP2 compatibility as administrator. Can't remember where I got the drivers, but they are on the realtek site (didn't use that site though as it's so slow).

I restored XP and it worked fine and then reinstalled Windows 7 but still have the same problem. I have tried the Sigmatel Control panel but that does not work correctly either (the sub does not seem active but it tries to output in 5.1 where as in XP it output in 2.1) Can anyone please help!!!!! I sorta had the same issue. I got the latest driver from Intel's website. Modded 2 files by inserting my hardware id in a few spots, and then pointed them to the M4-11DM.INI file.

I've just installed Windows 7 on my Dell Inspiron 6000. Most everything is working great, but the audio icon says 'No Audio Output Device is installed'. Device manager shows 'Multimedia Audio Controller' under Other Devices, but the Update Driver button doesn't find any drivers.

Before I installed I checked and saw that it's a SigmaTel C-Major Audio device. I downloaded the recommended driver (9524859.exe), but when I run the installer it says 'Device Object not present'. I also tried running the installer in XP SP2 compatibility mode, but got the same response. I saw there was another post where a user was able to get it running, but no mention of what driver was used. Thanks in advance!

My Dell XPS M1330 laptop uses an audio device referred to as the Sigma Tel High Definition Audio CODEC. Unfortunately after installing a fresh copy of Windows 7 64 bit no audio could be heard, even though the volume was up at full and all the device drivers reported did not any problems. If you search the internet for Sigma Te High Definition Audio there is not much in the way of helpful results. Thankfully I found a simple solution; you simply have to manually install the Windows Vista, Sigma Tel HD Audio drivers onto your 64bit Windows 7.
